  • Rapide uses Unicode UTF-8 encoding which supports national language characters.

  • Text strings used in the user interface design and exit state messages are placed into a string properties file and referenced using a unique generated string id. The properties files can be translated into multiple languages and the correct language specific strings are loaded dynamically by the Rapide runtime based on the user's locale.

  • Because the strings are placed into a text file, they can be translated by a language expert or service that does not need to have access to the Gen model.

  • Rapide does not utilise Gen dialects for multi-lingual translations and does not require separate UI designs in the model for each language.

  • The Rapide Runtime Translation Facility allows the dynamic translation of the application whilst executing the application rather than via the development tools.

  • Rapide also includes an API to the string translation runtime to enable translation of action diagram strings into the user's locale.

Apologies for any strange translations which are courtesy of Google Translate...
